Larry Walsh

Larry Walsh is a U.S. Army veteran who spent nearly thirty years in the pharmaceutical industry before embarking on a transformative new path. What began as a way to find purpose after being dismissed by corporate America blossomed into a deep passion for long-distance cycling.

In 2018, Walsh left the corporate world behind to cycle into the heart of America. His first book, "Suit to Saddle: Cycling to Self-Discovery on the Southern Tier," chronicles his 3,120-mile ride from California to Florida along the Southern Tier route. Through his triumph over adversity, Walsh rediscovers a side of himself defined by grit and determination.

The lure of the open road called him again in 2019, when he completed the grueling 4,200-mile Trans Am Bike Race from Oregon to Virginia, a feat accomplished by only 263 solo cyclists.

In his second book, "Forty to Finish: Cycling to Victory on the Trans America Bike Trail," Walsh offers readers a cyclist’s love letter to the American road and an inspiring testament to the power of the human spirit.

Walsh has appeared on the We Get Outdoors podcast in South Africa, Morris Sussex Sports NJ TV, and as a featured speaker at cycling clubs, libraries, VFWs, and senior centers. He enjoys sharing his story and inspiring others to pursue their own journeys of self-discovery.
