Karen McNeil-Miller

Karen McNeil-Miller is a leader in philanthropy and health equity, serving as president and CEO of The Colorado Health Foundation. McNeil-Miller guides the foundation in advancing health for all Coloradans, with a focus on addressing systemic barriers and investing in community-based solutions. Her approach emphasizes leveraging human, financial, and influence capital to create social impact. She is recognized for her expertise in organizational effectiveness, diversity, and change management.

Before joining The Colorado Health Foundation, McNeil-Miller was president of the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, where she led the organization to become a strategic, impact-driven foundation with a national profile, particularly in rural health and access to care. Her earlier tenure at the Center for Creative Leadership developed her skills in leadership development, executive coaching, and succession planning, establishing her as an authority on building resilient organizations. McNeil-Miller began her career as a special education teacher and later led the Piedmont School in North Carolina, experiences that shaped her dedication to equity and opportunity.

McNeil-Miller serves on the boards of organizations including the Colorado Community College System, the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, and the Association of Black Foundation Executives. She has received honors such as being named one of Denver Business Journal’s Most Admired CEOs.
