Julio Melara

Julio Melara is a second-generation Honduran American who established a significant multimedia company in Louisiana. Melara began his media career as a college freshman working as a courier at a local business newspaper. He advanced to become the top sales executive at WWL radio in New Orleans, where he was recognized as the only million-dollar producer in the Louisiana radio industry. Melara later served as publisher of New Orleans Magazine and joined New Orleans Publishing Group as vice president for sales and training, contributing to the foundation of his entrepreneurial path.

Melara is president and CEO of Melara Enterprises, a multimedia company he founded after acquiring Louisiana Business Inc. The company operates several media brands, including "Baton Rouge Business Report," "225," "inRegister," and "10/12 Industry Report." These brands are supported by digital platforms, newsletters, and community events, reaching approximately 4 million readers annually and generating nearly 23 million views and impressions. Melara expanded the company’s portfolio by acquiring Launch Media, a video production company, and developing StudioE, a content, communications, and creative studio focused on data-driven strategies for business storytelling.

Melara founded the Business Report Executive Leadership Academy, a program for professionals, small business owners, and entrepreneurs, which has produced more than 500 alumni. He also established the 21st Century Business Forum, a monthly webcast featuring business leaders and thinkers such as Steve Forbes, Nick Saban, and John Maxwell, aimed at providing insight to entrepreneurs and executives. Creative work under Melara’s leadership has received recognition from the Telly Awards, ADDY Awards, Society for Professional Journalists, and Alliance of Area Business Publishers.

In addition to his media work, Melara is known as a motivational speaker, delivering keynote addresses and seminars on leadership, entrepreneurship, resilience, and personal growth. He is the author of several books, including "Do You Have The Time For Success?," "It Only Takes Everything You've Got!," "Keys To Performance," and "Mental Snacks – Nourishment for Your Mind and Fuel for Your Life!" Melara has received the E.A. Pete Goldsby Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to business and the community.
