Joshua N. Weiss

Dr. Joshua N. Weiss is a recognized authority in negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership. Weiss is the co-founder of the Global Negotiation Initiative at Harvard University and serves as a senior fellow at the Harvard Negotiation Project. He earned his doctorate from the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University. Weiss directs the MS in Leadership and Negotiation program at Bay Path University and operates a private consulting firm, providing leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution solutions for businesses, organizations, international entities, governments, and individuals.

Weiss has conducted training and consulting for organizations such as Microsoft, General Motors, United Auto Workers, Christie's Art Auction House, Deloitte, Genzyme, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Yale Medical School, the United Nations, the Government of Canada, and the U.S. Government, including the State Department, Federal Emergency Management Agency, National Park Service, and Transportation Security Administration. His work encompasses a broad range of negotiation contexts, from corporate environments to international peace processes.

Weiss is the author of "The Book of Real-World Negotiations: Successful Strategies From Business, Government, and Daily Life," which examines real-world negotiation cases. The book is included on Harvard's Program on Negotiation Best Negotiation Books reading list. His other works include "Getting Back to the Table: 5 Steps to Reviving Stalled Negotiations" and "The Negotiator in You" book series. Weiss also writes children's books focused on creative conflict resolution.

In addition to his publications, Weiss developed the "Negotiation Tip of the Week" podcast, which has ranked among the top iTunes Business Podcasts and has surpassed 2 million downloads. His TED Talk, "The Wired Negotiator," explores the integration of technology into negotiation practices. Weiss has contributed to academic and professional publications, including Harvard Business Review, Psychology Today, and Negotiation Journal.

Weiss received the Win-win Innovation Prize from Mediation DACH for his work in conflict resolution. He is a member of the Advisory Council of Harvard Business Review and serves as president of Negotiation Works, Inc.
