Jennifer Quinto

Jennifer Quinto Saan Jeen, is an artist from Juneau, Alaska. She is the child of the Shungukeidi, from the L’uxnax.adi clan. She is Athabascan, of Bedzeyh Ti Xwt'ana (Caribou Tail) clan, of Minto, Alaska, and Iñupiaq of Utqiagvik and Pt. Hope, Alaska. She was born in Fairbanks, and raised in Juneau. She is an adoptee, a land and water defender, arts and education advocate who works in community programs for Racial Equity, Domestic violence, and decolonization to undo the harms that contribute to addiction, shame, self harm, grief, and recovery.

She started in theater as a teenager, first performing in Teen Xpress Theater, through the Juneau School District, and Perseverance Theatre. She was then hired as the Narrator for the local production of Naa Kahidi. Quinto returned to theater as the Assistant Director for the debut of Devilfish, by Vera Starbard. She has worked as an educator, Arts Education Director, Cultural Interpreter, and public speaker.

She practices the Traditional Cold Water Dipping of her Tlingit people for strength of mind, body and spirit, and educates the community on this practice as a means of healing trauma and learning coping skills. She's a National Leaders of Color Fellow, an Arts Education Director, writer, artist, and has worked as the Assistant Director for Perseverance Theatre.

The first speaking opportunity was a last minute offer on Elizabeth Peratrovich Day, without a script and landed her on the radio, with immediate interest from legislators, assembly, donors, and community leaders. Quinto was interviewed in a Season 14 episode of PBS's "Pati Jinich Explores PanAmericana". She has hosted mainstage presentations onboard Celebrity Cruises, Princess, and Cunard aboard the Queen Mary II. Quinto recently spoke at the GatherVerse SHE Summit as well as The Diputació de Barcelona's Global Summit of Science, Nature & Health and voiced an offstage character in the production of "Cold Case" at the Perseverance Theatre in Alaska.
