Hannah Bilka

Hannah Bilka, a professional ice hockey player, has had a successful career in the sport, with numerous accomplishments both on and off the ice. She is currently playing for the Seattle Torrent of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and is a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. Bilka's college ice hockey career spanned both Boston College and Ohio State, where she notably led Ohio State to the 2024 NCAA National Championship. She was recognized for her performance in her first year, being named the Women's Hockey Commissioners Association National Rookie of the Year in 2020. Bilka's skills were further acknowledged when she was drafted fourth overall by PWHL Boston in the 2024 PWHL draft, and later third overall by the Seattle Torrent in the 2025 PWHL Expansion Draft.

Despite facing an injury during the 2024-25 season, Bilka showcased her resilience, recording five goals and six assists in just 16 games. She made her Seattle Torrent debut on November 21, 2025, scoring a goal in the team's first game. The Seattle Torrent's inaugural home opener on November 28, 2025, set an attendance record for a professional women's hockey game in the United States, further highlighting the impact and growth of women's hockey. Bilka continued to excel, recording her first multi-point game with the Seattle Torrent on December 3, 2025, and tying for the team lead in points by early December of the same year. She finished the year on a high note, recording a new career-high three points in a game on December 17, 2025.

Internationally, Bilka represented the United States under-18 team at the 2018 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship and won a gold medal. She continued her trend of excellence at the 2026 Winter Olympics, where she scored two goals against Canada, contributing to the first shutout of Canada in women's ice hockey at the Olympic Games. For her outstanding performance, she was named to the Winter Olympics Media All-Star Team in 2026. Off the ice, Bilka has been active in promoting and growing girls' hockey in Texas by working with youth programs and camps during the summers.
