Gia Kim Biography
Gia Kim is a South Korean actress whose path to Hollywood includes experience in journalism, theater, and formal conservatory training. Kim studied journalism and music at university and began her professional career in broadcast journalism in New York and Beijing, later working as a news reporter at Arirang Newsroom in Korea. Her interest in acting began with a community theater musical in Beijing, which led her to return to Korea, where she co-founded a theater troupe to self-produce plays in Daehakro, known as Korea's equivalent of Broadway. Motivated by a growing passion for acting, Kim moved to Los Angeles to complete a conservatory program at Art of Acting Los Angeles.
After graduation, Kim secured her first commercial television role in "XO, Kitty" as Yuri Han, a central character in the American romantic comedy drama series created by Jenny Han for Netflix. "XO, Kitty" is a spin-off of the "To All the Boys" film series and is recognized as the first Netflix television series spun off from a Netflix original film.
