Erika Alexander is beloved for her iconic acting roles as Maxine Shaw in "Living Single" — garnering two NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actress/Comedy Series — Detective Latoya in "Get Out," Cousin Pam in "The Cosby Show," Perenna in "Black Lightning," Linda Diggs in "(Wutang: An American Saga," Barb Ballard in "Run The World" — for which she was nominated for NAACP Best Guest Actor, and most recently as Meredith Lockhart in "Swimming with Sharks," and as Abby Keegan in the critically acclaimed Apple+ series, "Shining Girls," starring Elisabeth Moss.

Alexander wears many hats – actress, trailblazing activist, entrepreneur, creator, producer and director – and is one of the country’s boldest, most daring, and powerful voices. As a creator, she recognizes the power of storytelling. And she believes that though content must be entertaining, when carefully constructed, stories have tremendous capacity to create impact and meaningful social change. As co-founder of Color Farm Media, she is on a mission to bring greater equity, inclusion, and diverse representation to both media and electoral politics.

Color Farm Media, self-described as the “Motown of film, TV, and tech,” develops and produces scripted and non-scripted content for film, television, streaming, and podcast platforms. Color Farm’s debut film, about the legendary congressman and civil rights icon, "John Lewis: Good Trouble," won the NAACP Award for Best Documentary and was nominated for three Emmy Awards.

Color Farm Media has produced the hit podcasts; "Reparations: The Big Payback" with Black Effect Network and iHeartMedia, and Audible Original series, "Finding Tamika," with Kevin Hart and Charlamagne Tha God’s SBH Productions. Color Farm is rising, with several scripted film and television projects in advanced stages of development; including DC comic hero "Xero," produced with 50 Cent’s G-Unit and Black Panther comic writer, Christopher Priest. Alexander also previously co-wrote, with Joss Whedon, "Buffy The Vampire’s" first spin-off comic series, "Giles," at Dark Horse. Alexander also co-created and co-wrote the award-winning, groundbreaking sci-fi series, "Concrete Park," also published by Dark Horse.

Alexander has boldly stepped into the arena of film director, with her debut film "The Big Payback," co-directed with Whitney Dow. The documentary chronicles the story of the first reparations bill in American history for African Americans. "The Big Payback" premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival.

A critical thought leader on racial and gender equity and leadership, Alexander’s work in content reflects her deep commitment to social activism. She serves as a board member for One Fair Wage and Exponent, and is highly involved with many other social and racial justice orgs, including; The Poor People’s Campaign, Color of Change, NAACP, UNCF, and others.
