Eric McCormack

Eric McCormack is a Canadian-American actor, singer, and producer whose career spans theater, television, and film. McCormack left Ryerson University to join the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, where he spent five years performing in stage productions that established his foundation in acting. His early stage work included productions across Canada, such as "Glengarry Glen Ross," "Burn This," and "Biloxi Blues," as well as five seasons with the Stratford Festival in productions including "Cymbeline," "Three Sisters," and "Murder in the Cathedral."

McCormack is best known for his role as Will Truman in the NBC sitcom "Will & Grace." His portrayal contributed to the representation of LGBTQ+ characters on television and earned him a SAG Award, five Golden Globe nominations, and an Emmy Award for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show received 16 Emmy Awards and 83 nominations, establishing its place in television history. The series was later revived, with McCormack reprising the role for additional seasons on NBC.

Beyond "Will & Grace," McCormack has taken on a variety of roles across genres. He starred in the TNT drama "Perception" as Dr. Daniel Pierce, a neuroscientist who assists the federal government in solving cases. On that series, McCormack also served as producer and director. He starred in the Netflix science fiction series "Travelers," which follows the last surviving humans who send consciousness back through time to save humanity. McCormack has also appeared in the ad-agency drama "Trust Me" and has demonstrated his range in both comedy and science fiction television.

McCormack's stage work includes starring on Broadway in "The Music Man," appearing Off-Broadway in the American premiere of Neil LaBute's "Some Girl(s)," and performing in Jason Alexander's production of "The Fantasticks" for Reprise in Los Angeles. He returned to Broadway in "The Cottage" and joined the producing team of the musical "Wild About You."

Throughout his career, McCormack has received recognition in both the United States and Canada. He received a star on Canada's Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has been honored with the Project Angel Food Angel Award for his work supporting AIDS patients and received the Spotlight Award from the Directors Guild of Canada – B.C. District Council. McCormack's career continues to evolve across genres and mediums, reflecting his enduring presence in the entertainment industry.
