Ella F. Washington

Dr. Ella F. Washington is an organizational psychologist on a mission to “Elevate Humanity in the Workplace.” For nearly two decades, she has helped individuals and organizations create workplaces that are equitable, inclusive, and transformative.

As a Professor of Practice at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, Dr. Washington has been recognized for her teaching excellence, earning the Excellence in Teaching Award (2021) and being named one of Poets & Quants’ 40 Under 40 MBA Professors (2023).

She is also a trusted workplace strategist and consultant, known for her expertise in leadership dynamics, workplace innovation, and fostering inclusive cultures. Her strategies draw from years of experience, including her time leading Gallup’s Diversity and Inclusion practice and co-hosting the Center for Black Voices Cultural Competence Podcast.

Dr. Washington is the author of two acclaimed books: "Unspoken: A Guide to Cracking the Hidden Corporate Code," which empowers individuals to navigate workplace challenges and thrive authentically, and "The Necessary Journey: Making Real Progress on Equity and Inclusion," a must-read for organizations committed to meaningful change.

Based in Washington, D.C., Dr. Washington continues to inspire leaders, empower teams, and transform workplaces worldwide. She holds a doctorate from Northwestern University and a BA from Spelman College.
