Dr. Sims is a nationally respected environmental soil scientist, entrepreneur, author and higher education leader whose career uniquely bridges scientific innovation, business success and transformational leadership. Over more than three decades, Dr. Sims founded and grew four nationally operating environmental consulting firms before successfully selling them, earning recognition as an accomplished business leader and environmental expert. While navigating the challenges of dyslexia and ADHD, he pursued his academic ambitions with determination, earning his BA, MS and PhD and publishing peer-reviewed research and professional works that continue to influence scientific and educational communities.

Dr. Sims is a passionate advocate for neurodivergent individuals and speaks openly about the power of embracing different ways of thinking as a catalyst for innovation, leadership and personal growth. He transitioned from industry to higher education in 2011 and subsequently inspired students and drove institutional advancement, rising from environmental science instructor to dean of the School of Science, Engineering and Mathematics at a leading community college.
