Deepak Malhotra

Deepak Malhotra is the Eli Goldston Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School (HBS), where he teaches and conducts research on negotiation, deal-making and conflict resolution. He has won numerous awards for teaching, including the HBS Faculty Award and the Charles M. Williams Award, and has twice been selected by Harvard MBA students to deliver the end-of-year commencement speech. In 2020, he was named MBA Professor of the Year by Poets & Quants. He currently serves as Faculty Chair for the Owner/President Management Program for business owners and entrepreneurs.

Malhotra is the author of the debut novel "The Peacemaker’s Code," which won the National Indie Excellence Award for Best Science Fiction Novel and is in development as a television series. His earlier non-fiction works include "Negotiating the Impossible," named the "#1 Business Book of 2016" by KnowSquare, honored with the Outstanding Book Award by the International Association for Conflict Management, and listed among the "Top 10 Business Books of 2016" by The Globe & Mail; "Negotiation Genius" (with Max Bazerman), recipient of the 2008 Outstanding Book Award by the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution; and "I Moved Your Cheese," a Wall Street Journal bestseller.

His research has appeared in leading journals in management, psychology, conflict resolution and foreign policy. Outside HBS, Malhotra serves as a trainer, consultant and advisor to companies, CEOs and governments, including in efforts to negotiate the resolution of protracted armed conflicts.
