David Stelzer is the founder and CEO of Azure Standard. He began farming organically as a teenager in the 1970s with a passion for providing truly healthful foods grown without conventional chemical inputs. From small beginnings selling grain grown on the family farm, Stelzer founded Azure Standard in 1987 as a way to market not only what he grew but other products requested by his customers.
Stelzer and Azure Standard created a unique delivery method of community Drops that evolved organically into an independent organic food distribution network that now covers 38 states – including Hawaii and Alaska – with more than 4,000 community Drops in local communities. Azure has delivered organic produce and food to well over three million people in families across the U.S.
Stelzer passionately believes in supporting small and family-owned farms, suppliers, and businesses. He continues to pioneer new methods of growing food and food production.
