David Reibstein

David J. Reibstein is the William S. Woodside Professor and Professor of Marketing at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Reibstein is recognized for his expertise in competitive marketing strategy and the connection between marketing investments and financial value. His research encompasses marketing ROI, internet marketing, competitive marketing strategy, market segmentation, marketing models, and brand choice behavior. Reibstein earned his PhD from Purdue University and holds BS and BA degrees from the University of Kansas.

Reibstein has authored or co-authored nine books, including "Marketing Metrics: The Manager's Guide to Measuring Marketing Performance." "Marketing Metrics: 50+ Metrics Every Executive Should Master" was named Best Business Book: Marketing by Strategy & Business. He has published articles in major marketing journals, including Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Science, Harvard Business Review, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Marketing, and Journal of Consumer Research. Reibstein is also the co-founder of Bizrate.com.

He served as vice dean of the Wharton School, chairman of the board of the American Marketing Association, and executive director of the Marketing Science Institute. Reibstein has taught at Harvard Business School and Stanford University, and served as a visiting professor at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. He has worked with more than 300 companies in over 30 countries, consulting for organizations ranging from Fortune 500 firms to start-ups, including Google, GE, British Airways, and Royal Dutch Shell.

Reibstein has received more than 30 teaching awards and has been featured in Fortune as one of the nation's eight favorite business school professors. He has also been recognized in Business Week as one of ten business school professors to watch. Woxsen University honored him with a lifetime achievement award and named its marketing department after him.

Reibstein hosts the radio show "Measured Thoughts" on Wharton Business Radio, Sirius XM Radio Channel 111, where he discusses marketing measurement and effectiveness. He has conducted interviews with CEOs and CMOs on marketing measurement. As an expert witness, Reibstein has provided testimony in patent infringement, intellectual property matters, and consumer class actions, contributing to the fields of marketing analytics, brand strategy, and marketing measurement.
