Inspired to create a foundation to support families raising children with autism and related brain disorders, Walker has become a leader in the field of public policy related to mental health and special education. In the classroom, Walker inspires her students to reach their potential and nourishes their curiosity, offering real-world examples of how public policy impacts their lives.
An author of two books, Walker tells it like it is, sharing personal details of her journey through dark times with humor and empathy. Walker received her B.A. from lake Forest College and her M.P.P.A. from Northwestern University. She is the founder of the Chasing Hope Foundation.
