Chip Gaines

Chip Gaines is an entrepreneur, television personality, contractor, and New York Times bestselling author recognized for co-hosting the home renovation series "Fixer Upper" with his wife, Joanna Gaines. Gaines began his career in real estate by flipping houses while attending Baylor University, where he studied marketing at the Hankamer School of Business. His entrepreneurial interests led him to establish several small businesses, including a laundry service, a fireworks stand, and multiple landscaping companies. Prior to "Fixer Upper," Gaines and his wife were established real estate renovators in the Waco area, managing a small staff and coordinating with up to 30 contractors.

"Fixer Upper" debuted with a pilot episode on HGTV, followed by a full season, and quickly gained a large audience. The series showcased the couple's approach to home renovation and real estate investment, focusing on transforming properties in Waco. Gaines and his wife later received Emmy nominations for their Magnolia Network series "Fixer Upper: Welcome Home," which continued their work in home improvement television.

Gaines co-leads the Magnolia brand, which includes an e-commerce platform, the Hearth & Hand with Magnolia home décor collection for Target, the lifestyle magazine Magnolia Journal, the Magnolia Network television channel, and Magnolia Realty. The Magnolia Network, launched in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, features a catalog of home renovation and lifestyle programming, with shows such as "Fixer Upper" also available on HBO Max.

Gaines is the author of two self-help books and co-author of the memoir "The Magnolia Story" with Joanna Gaines. His solo book, "Capital Gaines," details his entrepreneurial journey and offers insights into business development and personal growth. "Capital Gaines" achieved bestseller status on the New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Publisher's Weekly lists. He is also the author of "No Pain, No Gaines." Gaines frequently discusses lessons learned from risk-taking, overcoming setbacks, and building a business, making him a recognized voice in entrepreneurship, home renovation, and business leadership.
