Chef Jeff Henderson

Jeff Henderson, known professionally as Chef Jeff, is an American chef, New York Times bestselling author, philanthropist, television personality, and leader in personal and professional development. Henderson is recognized for his expertise in culinary arts, motivational speaking, and strategies for personal transformation.

A California native, Henderson began his culinary career while serving a federal prison sentence, where he discovered a passion for cooking. After his release, he advanced from dishwasher to cook under Chef Robert Gadsby and later worked at Coronado Island Marriott, Hotel Bel-Air, and L’Ermitage Beverly Hills. Henderson became the first African American Chef de Cuisine at Caesars Palace, where he was named Las Vegas Chef of the Year, and later served as executive chef at Café Bellagio.

Harper Collins published Henderson’s memoir, "Cooked," which led to an interview with Oprah Winfrey. Sony Pictures secured the rights to his story, prompting Henderson to transition from his role at Café Bellagio to focus on television, consulting, and public speaking. He launched "The Chef Jeff Project," a docu-reality series on Food Network, mentoring young adults in culinary skills and personal growth.

Henderson authored the cookbook "Chef Jeff Cooks" with Simon & Schuster, followed by "America I AM Pass It Down Cookbook" and the self-help book "If You Can See It, You Can Be It." His television credits include "Beat The Chefs" on Game Show Network, "Family Style with Chef Jeff," and "Flip My Food."

Henderson’s story has been featured on Oprah's Life Class, Good Morning America, Today Show, ABC World News Tonight, CNN, The Steve Harvey Show, and in publications such as The New York Times, Newsweek, USA Today, People Magazine, and the Washington Post.
