Brian McComak

Brian McComak is a consultant, speaker, author, and facilitator whose work focuses on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), human resources, and organizational culture. With more than 25 years of experience in change management, internal communications, and employee experience, McComak has contributed to the movement to create workplaces that support all employees. He holds a master's degree in human resources and change management from the University of Central Florida and a bachelor's degree in management and marketing from the University of South Florida.

Before founding his own consulting firm, McComak served as the global head of inclusion for Tapestry, the parent company of Coach, Kate Spade, and Stuart Weitzman, where he developed and implemented the company's DEI strategy. His work contributed to Tapestry's recognition by the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index, Women in the Workplace, and Forbes Best Places to Work for Diversity. McComak previously held leadership roles at The Walt Disney Company, L'Oréal, and Christie's Auction House, providing him with experience across the fashion, retail, hospitality, entertainment, and media industries.

McComak is the CEO and founder of Hummingbird Humanity, an LGBTQ+-owned consulting firm focused on building inclusive workplace cultures and advancing human-centered leadership. Through Hummingbird Humanity, he provides organizations with DEI assessments, learning circles, and strategic roadmapping to support holistic representation and inclusion. He has served on the DEI advisory board at Ph.Creative and worked as a senior consultant with Jennifer Brown Consulting, expanding his expertise in organizational transformation and client advisory.

As an openly gay man and a person with a disability, McComak incorporates his lived experiences into his work. He is the author of "Humanity in the Workplace: A Blueprint for Building an Inclusive and Equitable Company Culture," a guide for leaders aiming to integrate inclusion into organizational culture. McComak is a contributor to SHRM content and has appeared on podcasts such as Dr. Rosie Ward's "Show Up as a Leader," "Culture Crush with Kindra Maples," and has hosted a monthly DEI episode on the "Gut+Science" podcast. He has spoken at the SHRM Inclusion Conference, addressing the importance of representation from multiple perspectives.
