Anna Svetchnikov

Anna Svetchnikov is a licensed marriage and family therapist, social worker, and author with a focus on advancing mental health support for children and families. Svetchnikov has accumulated more than a decade of experience as a health analyst at Boston Children's Hospital, a social worker and supervisor, and as an in-home therapy clinician and supervisor for the Home for Little Wanderers. Her clinical work extends throughout New England, including roles at Walden Behavioral Center, adult day-care facilities, and in-home therapy centers.

Svetchnikov specializes in evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), narrative therapy, and motivational interviewing. She emphasizes brief therapy and a continuum of change to support client progress in mental health and behavioral health.

As founder and executive director of Longwood Care Inc., a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Svetchnikov provides outpatient therapy with a primary focus on trauma-related crisis intervention services for high-need individuals, couples, and families in Lynnfield and Danvers, Massachusetts. Her work also includes supporting children with special needs and addressing children's behavioral issues. Svetchnikov established "I Care We All Care," a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing stigma around mental health.

Svetchnikov is a published author of more than 30 books for children, adolescents, teens, and adults, addressing topics related to mental health and wellness. Her approach, "Therapy Through Storytelling," uses narrative to help individuals process emotions and improve well-being. Notable titles include "I Deserve More," "Good Night Apollo: A Story About Kindness," "Awesome Team Vs CoronaVera," "Unfreeze Time," "The Fearless One," and "Olive & I." Her books and materials have received 12 awards, including the Mom's Choice Award, Book of the Year, Pinnacle Book Achievement Award, Reader's Choice Award, and Royal Dragonfly Book Award.

Svetchnikov has been recognized for her contributions to mental health with honors such as Top Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist of the Year, the Empowered Woman Award, and inclusion in Forbes Next 1000 List. She has received the President's Lifetime Achievement Award, an official citation from Senator Joseph Boncore, and five President's Achievement Awards for community service. She was named to Boston Business Journal's 40 Under 40 and launched the Positive Parenting Initiative to support families.

Svetchnikov has appeared on PBS, FOX, ABC, and NBC, and regularly speaks at conferences, workshops, and events. She has served as a keynote speaker at the WeBelieve conference and presented at the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy conferences and the IFTA World Family Therapy Congress in Toyama, Japan, where she delivered a presentation titled "Unfolding the Layers of Identity: An Integrative Approach to the Tripartite Personas in Family Therapy." Her work has been featured in Forbes and The Wall Street Journal, highlighting her leadership and advocacy in the mental health field.
