Andy Mouncey

Andy Mouncey is a record-setting ultra-distance athlete, award-winning speaker, and author whose career spans more than three decades of endurance racing. With extensive experience in ultra-endurance events, Mouncey has competed in demanding races such as The Spine Race, Western States, UTMB, Ironman, and Lakeland 100. He is recognized as a record-setting ultra-distance triathlete for the Enduroman Arch to Arc Challenge and has twice placed second at the Lakeland 100, the United Kingdom's premier 100-mile trail race. Mouncey set the fastest stage times for the Enduroman Arch to Arc Challenge, a 300-mile solo triathlon linking London and Paris via an English Channel swim.

Mouncey is the author of three books: "So You Want to Run an Ultra?," "Magic Madness and Ultramarathon Running," and "London to Paris the Hard Way." "Magic Madness and Ultramarathon Running" explores the mental and physical demands of ultrarunning, while "So You Want to Run an Ultra?" serves as a guide for athletes transitioning from marathon or triathlon to ultramarathon. His writing and speaking focus on endurance sports, mental resilience, and accessible strategies for achieving challenging goals.

Mouncey is an accredited Level 2 Endurance Coach with UK Athletics and holds qualifications in personal training, strength and conditioning, physical therapy, and triathlon coaching. He is also a qualified British Triathlon Federation coach and a Neuro-Linguistic Practitioner. Mouncey has presented to business, sport, and educational audiences in the United Kingdom and Europe. His keynote, "Doing Big & Scary," outlines a six-step goal-achieving process inspired by his Enduroman Arch to Arc experience. He was recognized as Associate of the Year by the Professional Speaking Association, NW Region.

Beyond racing and speaking, Mouncey leads Run For Your Life CIC, a not-for-profit organization delivering Physically Active Learning programs to rehabilitate and re-engage people at risk of offending, in prison, and recently released. The program involves groups of up to 20 people, including prisoners and staff, with a focus on rebuilding relationships. Mouncey also hosts a residential retreat in the Yorkshire Dales for individuals from business, sport, education, and the prison system, and his mentoring scheme pairs business leaders with those in the prison service. Mouncey's career demonstrates the intersection of athletic discipline, mental resilience, and social impact within the endurance sports community.
