Andrew Zimmern

Andrew Zimmern is an Emmy Award-winning and four-time James Beard Award-winning television personality, chef, writer, and social justice advocate recognized for his contributions to culinary television and food media. Zimmern's series "Bizarre Foods" introduced a new approach to culinary storytelling, emphasizing cultural context, human connection, and global cuisine. As co-creator, host, and consulting producer of the Travel Channel series "Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern" and "Andrew Zimmern's Bizarre World," Zimmern explores regional foods and culinary traditions around the world. Prior to his television career, Zimmern hosted radio shows including "Chowhounds," "The Andrew Zimmern Show," and "Food Court With Andrew Zimmern," which gained popularity in the Twin Cities.

Zimmern has served as creator, executive producer, and host for several food and travel series, including the "Bizarre Foods" franchise, "Andrew Zimmern's Driven by Food," "What's Eating America," Emmy-nominated "Family Dinner," "Wild Game Kitchen," and the Emmy Award-winning "The Zimmern List." He has appeared as a judge on "Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend" on Netflix and "The Silos Baking Competition" on HBO Max, and has mentored aspiring chefs on Food Network's "All Star Academy." Zimmern's work on "Hope in the Water," a James Beard and Emmy nominee, explores innovations in blue food technologies and sustainable seafood.

Zimmern is the founder and CEO of Intuitive Content, a production company recognized by Realscreen as one of the top 100 in the industry. Through Passport Hospitality, Zimmern develops culinary concepts and provides consulting for restaurant and retail projects, including Atlanta's Chattahoochee Food Works and food service development for the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream.

Zimmern has authored five books, including "The Bizarre Truth," the Gold IPPY Award-winning "AZ and the Lost City of Ophir," and "The Blue Food Cookbook," which serves as a companion to "Hope in the Water." He is a contributing editor and monthly columnist at Minneapolis–St. Paul Magazine and a senior editor at Delta Sky Magazine. Zimmern's personal experiences overcoming addiction and homelessness inform his advocacy and culinary exploration, establishing him as a prominent voice in food media, culinary travel, and social justice.
