Aliza Sherman

Aliza Sherman is an American new media entrepreneur, author, international keynote speaker, and women's issues activist whose career has focused on the intersection of technology and women's empowerment. Sherman has worked as a digital marketing strategist since the early days of the internet and founded Cybergrrl, Inc., the first full-service internet company owned by a woman. She later established Webgrrls International, recognized as the first global women's new media networking organization. At its peak, Webgrrls included more than 30,000 women in 100 chapters worldwide. Sherman is also known for launching the first three general interest websites for women: Cybergrrl.com, Webgrrls.com, and Femina.com, which predated other major women's websites.

Sherman's work has earned recognition from Newsweek, which named her one of the "Top 50 People Who Matter Most on the Internet," and from Fast Company, which included her among the "Most Influential Women in Technology" in the Blogger category. She has received numerous awards for her contributions to internet innovation, including the Avon Spirit of Enterprise Award. Sherman has been profiled in publications such as People, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, US News and World Report, Time Digital, and Elle. Her media appearances include CBS News with Dan Rather, CBS This Morning, Fox Good Day New York, Lifetime TV's New Attitudes, and frequent expert commentary on CNN, CNN-FN, MSNBC, and CNBC.

In addition to her work in internet, website, and organizational development, Sherman has written 12 books, several of which address challenges women face in increasing their participation online. Her titles include "Cybergrrl: A Woman's Guide to the World Wide Web," "Cybergrrl @ Work: Tips and Inspiration for the Professional You," "PowerTools for Women in Business," "Social Media Engagement for Dummies," and "The Happy, Healthy Nonprofit: Strategies for Impact without Burnout." Sherman is also the creator and former host of "Quick and Dirty Tips Digital Marketer," a podcast focused on online tools. Her work has been featured in USA Today, Newsweek, Time, CNN, CNBC, and MSNBC, and she has presented at events such as BlogHer Annual Conference, SXSW Interactive, SXSW Cannabusiness Tracks, Women Grow Leadership Summit, and The Women's Economic Forum.

Sherman established the digital consulting and social media marketing firm Conversify and later launched the strategic digital and mobile consulting agency Mediaegg LLC. She partnered with documentary filmmaker and tech innovator Melissa Pierce to launch Ellementa, a network for women focused on the health and wellness benefits of cannabis. Ellementa is a global wellness company that educates women about plant medicine, including CBD, adaptogens, ayurveda, homeopathy, cannabis, and psychedelics. Sherman co-authored "Cannabis and CBD for Health and Wellness: An Essential Guide for Using Nature's Medicine" with Dr. Junella Chin. She also hosts the Ellementa Show, a live broadcast featuring wellness experts, authors, and entrepreneurs discussing women's health. Throughout her career, Sherman has identified emerging movements and built communities around them, establishing her as a credible voice in technology, entrepreneurship, and wellness.
