Danny Huerta

Dr. Danny Huerta, PsyD, MSW, LCSW, LSSW, is vice president of parenting and youth for Focus on the Family, where he oversees initiatives designed to equip parents with biblical principles and guidance for raising healthy, resilient children with a strong foundation in faith.

Huerta is a psychologist, licensed clinical social worker, and author of the book "7 Traits of Effective Parenting." He provides families with practical, research-based parenting advice on topics such as media discernment, discipline, communication, mental health, conflict resolution, and healthy sexuality in the home. His work focuses on supporting parents as they guide children to become contributors in society.

Huerta has been interviewed by media outlets including Fox News, Fatherly, Christianity Today, WORLD Magazine, and CBN, and is a frequent guest on Christian radio stations nationwide. He has contributed articles to publications such as The Washington Post on subjects related to marriage and parenting. He participated in the development of Focus on the Family’s "Launch Into the Teen Years," a resource for parents preparing children for adolescence, and speaks at retreats, conventions, and online events.

Huerta maintains a private practice in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and has served families through Focus on the Family for many years.
