Mark Hood was the marketing director and facilitated clinical groups at Parkview Hospital. He received his associate's degree in the Philippines and a bachelor's and master's degree in psychology from the University of Missouri. Mark then received specialized training in biofeedback and stress management from the Menninger Clinic. He was previously the director of biofeedback at North Hills hospital in Kansas City.
Mark is affiliated with Leadership of Greater Topeka, United Way, YMCA, Valeo Behavioral Health Center, and the EMS Advisory Board. He is a member of several national speakers' bureaus. Mark has been the host of radio and TV programs and produces a weekly advice column on mental health through optimism. He has also taught psychology courses in Kansas and Missouri colleges.
His primary interest has been in detecting the factors within stress resistant personalities and then implementing these into people's lives. He enjoys community presentations, stress, exercise, being very quiet and his wife Melissa.
His recent and most comprehensive books are called, "Oh, To Be A Glow-Worm" and "Live Before You Die". They are available in bookstores, on all major Internet book sites and as an abridged 2 CD set. His final project, "Here It Is, There It Was, and So It Goes" was released in 2004.
