Wrenn Schmidt has solidified her place as a respected actress and noteworthy newcomer with a dynamic career in television, film and theatre.
Best known for her role as Jack Huston's paramour 'Julia' on BOARDWALK EMPIRE, she began her career under Tony award-winning director Anthony Page in the national Broadway tour of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? with Kathleen Turner and Bill Irwin. Numerous stage turns Off-Broadway and on Broadway include the world premieres of Be a Good Little Widow (Ars Nova) and Jailbait (Cherry Lane - Cherry Pit), Eugene O'Neill's Beyond the Horizon (Irish Rep Theatre), the Broadway production of Come Back, Little Sheba (MTC), and The Master Builder opposite John Turturro (BAM).
While Schmidt’s work in television and film includes NBC’s “Law and Order” and “Mercy”, CBS’s “Blue Bloods” and “3 Lbs”, and ABC’s “Body of Proof”, as well as the films Our Idiot Brother and How to Follow Strangers with Ilana Glazer; she first drew broad attention and acclaim for her portrayal of “Angelina” in Alex Gibney’s documentary Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer. Soon after, Indiewire included her on their list of “On The Rise: 10 Actresses to watch in 2013” and Schmidt was profiled by The New York Times.
Schmidt has been in high demand for her versatility and ability to transcend genre and medium. She next starred as Wit Neary in Christopher Denham’s action thriller Preservation with Pablo Schreiber and Aaron Staton (2014 Tribeca FF), followed by dramatic turns on FX’s "The Americans” and “Tyrant”, then CBS’s “Person of Interest” as Dr. Iris Campbell.
In the fall of 2014, Schmidt joined Marc Abraham’s Hank Williams biopic, I Saw the Light, starring Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen (Sony Pictures Classics March 2016). Subsequently, Schmidt signed onto Michael Bay's 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi with John Krasinski (Paramount Pictures January 2016).
Currently, Schmidt portrays "Megan Holter" in Cinemax’s new exorcism drama, “Outcast”, from “The Walking Dead” executive producer Robert Kirkman. Production begins summer 2015, and the series will debut in 2016.
