Mark Schultz Biography
Mark Schultz is a Dove Award-winning contemporary Christian music artist who has had over five #1 singles on the Christian adult contemporary airplay chart.
Schultz, who was adopted when he was two weeks old, was born and raised in Colby, Kansas. Although he enjoyed great success in high school athletics in sports including track and football -- he was his high school's quarterback -- Schultz's musical talents soon outshone his athletic abilities.
After graduating from Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in marketing, Schultz moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in music. However, Schultz ended up in youth ministry and he began writing songs for the youth and their families. The youth and their families encouraged Schultz to pursue a career as a Christian musician and organized for him to give a solo concert at the famous Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in 2000. That same year, Schultz released his debut album, the eponymous Mark Schultz.
In November of 2018, the Dove Award-winning artist released his ninth studio album, Follow.
As an adopted child, Schultz believes that giving to orphans in need is part of his life's purpose. In 2011, Schultz and his wife started the Remember Me Mission, which is a non-profit dedicated to helping orphans all over the world. Proceeds from Schultz's music and other creative projects go toward healthcare and education for orphans at home and abroad.
