Zola Nene Biography
Zola Nene is a chef based in Cape Town, South Africa. After initially enrolling in university for a Bachelor of Commerce law degree, Nene shifted her focus to the culinary industry, obtaining a working visa to train in England. There, she worked as a chef in the hot section of a brasserie in Cheshire and was later promoted to head pastry chef. Upon returning to South Africa, Nene enrolled at the Institute of Culinary Arts in Stellenbosch, where she began to focus on food media. She later worked as a catering manager in Johannesburg.
Nene's culinary expertise led to her selection as a food stylist and resident chef on South Africa's Expresso breakfast TV show, where she became known for accessible, everyday cooking. Expresso has become a prominent breakfast TV show in South Africa. Nene is the author of the cookbooks "Simply Delicious," which received a Gourmand World Cookbook Award as one of four winning South African cookbooks, and "Simply Zola." She also hosts the TV show "Celeb Feasts with Zola." Nene is recognized for her contributions to South African cuisine, food media, and television.
