Zayn Malik's journey as an artist began with his involvement in the boy band One Direction, formed during the seventh series of "The X Factor" in 2010. Their debut album, "Up All Night," achieved considerable success, debuting at number one in the United States. Malik's contribution to the band's subsequent albums and tours, such as the Where We Are Tour, was significant, the latter grossing over $290 million. In March 2015, Malik chose to explore his own creative interests, leaving One Direction and subsequently signing a solo recording contract with RCA Records.

Malik's solo career took off with the release of his debut studio album, "Mind of Mine" in 2016. His work includes designing a shoe line with Giuseppe Zanotti and a collection with Versus (Versace). Moreover, he has demonstrated a commitment to philanthropy as an ambassador for both the British Asian Trust and Hopefield Animal Sanctuary. Malik has shown support for various charitable causes and initiatives, such as Black Lives Matter, and has made considerable donations to causes such as Comic Relief and a medical fund for a sick child. His contributions extend further into public life, with Malik being revealed as the Shadow Duelist "Nocturne" in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel livestream in 2024. In 2025, he began filming a road trip docu-series for Netflix with his former One Direction band member Louis Tomlinson.
