Yul Spencer

Yul Spencer is an actor, stand-up comedian, writer, producer, and financial literacy advocate whose career spans television, film, theater, animation, and personal finance education. Born in Europe, Spencer established a diverse career that includes appearances in television, film, stand-up comedy, and animation. He began performing at the Comedy Store and the Improvisation Club in Hollywood, with his first national stand-up appearance on the Arsenio Hall Show. As a comedian, he performed under the name Spencer, toured nationally, and appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, and eight seasons of BET's Comic View.

Spencer is recognized for roles in TV shows such as "The Shield" and "Comic View," as well as films including "Funny FutherMuckers," "Two Can Play That Game," and "Nine Shades of Pleasant." His work in commercials includes a Burger King Steakhouse commercial featured on TBS's TV's Funniest Commercial. He has performed alongside comedians Chris Tucker, Joe Rogan, and Dave Chappelle. In addition to his on-screen work, Spencer wrote, starred in, and produced the one-man stage play "Ya' Gotta Go Higher," which was filmed and showcased at the LA Femme Festival at the Renberg Theater in Hollywood. He is also a founder of Shoshin Entertainment, which produces theatrical productions and develops feature films and television series.

Spencer's experiences navigating the financial challenges of the entertainment industry led him to advocate for financial literacy. He authored a series of books on the stock market, aiming to provide accessible financial education to those in the entertainment industry and underserved communities. His book series, "Wall Street Smarts," introduces principles for applying street smarts to investing and offers insights into how major market players operate. The series includes titles such as "Turning Losers Into Winners In The Stock Market," "The Wall Street Game: Game Recognize Game," and "K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stock Market." Spencer's work in financial education is dedicated to making financial knowledge accessible to marginalized individuals and normalizing financial literacy in underserved communities.
