Yolanda Renee King is an American activist, speaker, and youth leader carrying forward the legacy of her grandfather, Martin Luther King, Jr., and grandmother, Coretta Scott King. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Yolanda is the daughter of Martin Luther King III and Arndrea Waters King, and was named after her aunt, Yolanda King. She is the first and only grandchild of Dr. King and Coretta Scott King.
Although she never met her grandfather, Yolanda has emerged as a passionate advocate for social justice, equality, and youth empowerment, inspired by the civil rights work of her family. She has spoken at numerous events highlighting activism, leadership, and nonviolence, encouraging young people to engage in civic action and continue the fight for a more equitable society. Yolanda’s work reflects a modern interpretation of her grandparents’ vision, blending advocacy, education, and leadership to address contemporary challenges while honoring her family’s enduring legacy.
