
William “Bill” Rhoden is a former award-winning sports columnist for The New York Times and author of "Forty Million Dollar Slaves: The Rise, Fall and Redemption of the Black Athlete," and "Third and A Mile: The Trials and Triumphs of The Black Quarterback."
He currently serves as a writer-at-large for ESPN’s Andscape, where he acts as a columnist and oversees the Rhoden Fellowship, a program that identifies and trains aspiring African-American journalists from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Rhoden was elected into the National Sports Media Association’s Hall of Fame in January 2021.
