Walk Off the Earth is a Canadian indie pop band known for its inventive instrumentation, high-energy performances, and viral video creativity. Formed in 2006 in Burlington, Ontario, the group first gained international attention in 2012 with a YouTube cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” performed by five band members simultaneously playing a single guitar. The video became an internet sensation, earning millions of views within days and catapulting the band to global fame.

Core members have included Gianni “Luminati” Nicassio, Sarah Blackwood, Joel Cassady, Mike “Beard Guy” Taylor, and Ryan Marshall. The band blends pop, rock, reggae, and folk influences, often incorporating unconventional instruments and looping techniques into their arrangements.
