Vishal Sikka

Dr. Vishal Sikka is a technology leader and entrepreneur specializing in artificial intelligence and enterprise software. Sikka holds a doctorate in artificial intelligence from Stanford University and an honorary Doctorate of Engineering from Queensland University. He has co-authored research abstracts in AI, technology, and database management. Sikka is recognized for advocating the use of technology to amplify human potential and for applying software to address global challenges.

Before joining Infosys, Sikka served as chief technology officer and executive board member at SAP AG. At SAP, he led the development of the company's in-memory database platform, SAP HANA, which transformed data processing and analytics in enterprise environments. Sikka also introduced the "Timeless Software" framework, which outlines principles for renewing existing processes without disrupting customer operations.

As the first non-founder CEO and managing director of Infosys, Sikka guided the company through significant changes in the IT services industry. He implemented the "Renew + New" strategy, enabling clients to modernize IT landscapes through automation and next-generation technologies such as artificial intelligence. Under his leadership, Infosys supported the formation of the nonprofit artificial intelligence research organization OpenAI, with Sikka serving as an adviser.

Sikka later founded Vianai Systems, a human-centered AI platform and products company focused on enterprise AI solutions. The Vianai platform integrates open-source components, proprietary techniques, and human-centered design to deliver scalable AI across diverse enterprise environments. Sikka also serves on the board of directors at Oracle, the supervisory board of BMW Group, and as an advisor to the Stanford Institute of Human-Centered AI.

Sikka founded Hang Ten Systems, an AI enterprise-modernization startup that advises large organizations on AI strategy and software modernization. Hang Ten Systems works with major enterprises across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, including Fresenius Kabi, Saudi Aramco, and Siemens Energy. Sikka is a frequent keynote speaker on executive leadership and the ethical application of artificial intelligence, drawing on decades of experience in transforming global organizations.
