Viktoria Modesta is a singer, performance artist, model, and creative director who has become one of the most influential figures at the intersection of music, fashion, technology, and disability advocacy. Born Viktorija Moskaļova in Daugavpils, Latvia, she spent much of her childhood undergoing medical treatments after complications during her birth left her with a severely damaged left leg. After years of chronic pain and multiple surgeries, Modesta made the life-changing decision to undergo a voluntary below-the-knee amputation in 2007.
