Victor J. Glover

Victor J. Glover is a NASA astronaut, naval aviator, and test pilot with extensive experience in aerospace engineering, space exploration, and human spaceflight. Selected as an astronaut while serving as a legislative fellow in the U.S. Senate, Glover piloted the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft Resilience on its first operational mission to the International Space Station, serving as flight engineer for Expeditions 64 and 65. He has accumulated more than 3,000 flight hours across over 40 aircraft, including the F/A-18 Hornet, Super Hornet, and EA-18G Growler, and has completed more than 400 carrier arrested landings and 24 combat missions.

During his time aboard the International Space Station, Glover conducted four spacewalks, contributing to upgrades such as power systems and external cameras, and advancing microgravity research and station maintenance. His spacewalking experience, totaling over 26 hours, highlights his problem-solving skills in extreme environments and provides insights into human endurance in space.

Glover served as pilot of NASA's Artemis II mission, the first crewed lunar flight since Apollo, guiding the Orion spacecraft around the Moon alongside commander Reid Wiseman and mission specialists Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen. The mission reached a distance of 252,756 miles from Earth, marking the farthest humans have traveled, and Glover became the first Black astronaut to travel to the lunar vicinity.

In addition to his missions, Glover has served as capsule communicator and operations officer for Soyuz and Crew Dragon launches, demonstrating expertise in mission operations, space policy, aviation, and the future of human spaceflight.
