Veronica Garza

Veronica Garza is the co-founder, president, and chief innovation officer of Siete Foods, a Mexican American food brand known for its grain-free and dairy-free products. Garza helped build Siete Foods from a home kitchen into a nationally recognized company, offering nontraditional versions of traditional Mexican and Mexican American foods. The company has been credited with creating a category in grain-free and dairy-free Mexican American staples.

Garza's path to entrepreneurship began after she was diagnosed with multiple autoimmune conditions as a teenager, including lupus. To manage chronic fatigue and pain, she adopted a low-inflammation, grain-free diet, which meant giving up staples of her Mexican American heritage, such as tortillas. Determined to maintain her cultural connection, Garza developed almond flour tortillas that met her dietary needs and satisfied her family's taste preferences.

What started as a personal health solution evolved into a business when Garza began selling her almond flour tortillas at a CrossFit gym her family launched in Laredo. The tortillas quickly gained popularity, and Siete Foods products expanded to Whole Foods Market locations nationwide. Garza continues to lead product innovation at Siete Foods, providing alternatives to Mexican American foods with simple ingredients. Alongside her family and team, she has grown Siete into a brand with more than 85 products available in over 40,000 stores across the United States.

Garza's leadership in the health food industry has been recognized by Forbes, Fast Company, and Inc. Magazine. She is an Inc. Female Founders honoree and has played a role in increasing representation for Latina entrepreneurs in the business world. Siete Foods raised $91 million in funding from Stripes Group, joining the small percentage of venture capital-backed companies led by Latinx founders. Garza has expressed a commitment to supporting other minority-owned businesses and founders.

A significant milestone for the company was its acquisition by PepsiCo for $1.2 billion, marking a notable achievement for Latino-founded and heritage-driven brands in the food industry. Garza also led the launch of two product lines in Starbucks stores nationwide. She has discussed her health journey and the role of food in cultural connection on platforms such as Brené Brown's podcast and NBC's Bísness School. Garza's story highlights entrepreneurship, wellness, and Latino representation in the food and beverage industry.
