Vern Yip

Vern Yip is an interior designer, architect, and television personality known for his work in home renovation and interior design. Yip holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Virginia, a Master of Science in management, and a master's degree in architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He operates Vern Yip Designs in Atlanta, focusing on residential and commercial interior design with an emphasis on consumer value.

Yip gained national recognition through his appearances on "Trading Spaces" and became a familiar presence on HGTV, serving as a judge on "HGTV Design Star" for nine seasons and hosting "Deserving Design with Vern Yip." He also hosted "Bang for Your Buck" on HGTV and participated in the reboots of "Trading Spaces" and "While You Were Out" on TLC and HGTV. His design projects range from budget-conscious renovations to high-end, multi-million dollar transformations, including work for high-profile events such as Oscar parties.

Yip hosts "Home Reimagined" on Magnolia Network, available on Max and Discovery+, where he renovates unconventional structures—such as historic churches and warehouses—into functional homes while preserving their architectural integrity. Yip is a New York Times bestselling author, with books including "Vern Yip's Design Wise," "Vern Yip's Vacation at Home," and "Color Pattern Texture," which provide practical advice on interior design principles.

In addition to his design career, Yip collaborates with UNICEF to raise awareness for children's needs globally and has designed the UNICEF Snowflake Ball in New York. He has also participated in the lighting of the UNICEF Snowflake on Fifth Avenue. Yip's work spans television, publishing, and humanitarian efforts, establishing him as a recognized authority in interior design, home renovation, and architectural transformation.
