Tyler McCumber

Tyler McCumber is an American professional golfer competing on the PGA Tour. He is the son of professional golfer Mark McCumber, a former Players Champion and 10-time PGA Tour winner. McCumber grew up immersed in golf but also participated in surfing, baseball, and BMX before focusing on his golf career.

McCumber attended the University of Florida, where he played for the Florida Gators men's golf team. He earned All-American and All-SEC honors, captained the team for two seasons, and recorded 16 top-10 finishes. His senior-year stroke average ranks among the program's top performances. After graduating, McCumber turned professional and won his first professional tournament at the Florida Open. He then competed internationally, achieving back-to-back wins at the Ecuador Open and Mazatlán Open on PGA Tour Latinoamérica, and secured third place on the Order of Merit, which led to promotion to the Web.com Tour.

During his Mackenzie Tour campaign, McCumber became the first player to win three events in a single season since the tour's rebrand, capturing the Osprey Valley Open, Syncrude Oil Country Championship, and The Players Cup. This achievement earned him the PGA Tour Canada Player of the Year award and Web.com Tour status. Notably, he won at Edmonton Petroleum Golf & Country Club, a course designed by his father. McCumber earned his PGA Tour card the following year, with a runner-up finish at the Corales Puntacana Championship and career earnings exceeding $2.25 million. He is recognized for his driving distance, averaging nearly 310 yards off the tee and ranking among the top players in this category.

McCumber's career includes overcoming significant injuries, including surgeries on his left shoulder and hip. He returned to competition after a two-year hiatus, making his PGA Tour return at the Sony Open in Hawaii and continuing to compete on a Major Medical Extension. McCumber's journey from collegiate golf to international competition and his resilience in the face of adversity have established him as a notable figure in professional golf.
