Turia Pitt

Turia Pitt is an Australian motivational speaker, athlete, author, and burn survivor. In 2011, while competing in a 100km ultra-marathon, Pitt was caught in a grassfire and was choppered out of the remote desert barely alive with full thickness burns to 65 percent of her body. She lost seven fingers, had over 200 medical procedures, and spent two grueling years in recovery.

Surviving against overwhelming odds, Pitt rebuilt her life and defied every expectation placed on her. Since then, Pitt has written three best-selling books, coached over 40,000 people in her digital courses, shared a stage with Tony Robbins, competed in the Ironman World Championships, sailed a boat around French Polynesia, walked the Kokoda Trek, and grown a team and a business that she's truly proud of.

Pitt has gone on to thrive in the ultimate story of triumph over adversity. Renowned for her pure grit, indomitable spirit and passion for humanitarian work, she’s raised well over a million dollars for Interplast, an Australian and New Zealand based nonprofit who provide free surgical treatment and health care training in developing countries in the Asia Pacific Region.

Pitt has been shortlisted for Australian of the Year; was a finalist for the Telstra Business Women’s Award, and was the winner of the NSW Premier’s Women of the Year.
