Tony Xu

Tony Xu is the co-founder and CEO of DoorDash, the food delivery platform that has grown into one of the largest on-demand logistics companies in the world. Born in Nanjing, China, Xu immigrated to the United States with his family at a young age, working alongside his parents in their small restaurant—a formative experience that shaped his understanding of the challenges faced by local business owners. He went on to earn a degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where the idea for DoorDash first took root.

In 2013, Xu and his co-founders launched DoorDash with a mission to empower local economies by helping small merchants reach more customers through technology-driven delivery. Under his leadership, the company rapidly scaled across the U.S. and internationally, and in 2020 went public in one of the year’s most prominent IPOs. Known for his focus on operational excellence and long-term vision, Xu has guided DoorDash into new areas beyond food delivery, including convenience, groceries, and retail.

Beyond his work at DoorDash, Xu serves on the board of directors at Meta and is recognized as one of the most influential entrepreneurs of his generation.
