Tommy Tiernan

Tommy Tiernan, an Irish comedian recognized for his stand-up comedy, has gained significant recognition in the entertainment industry through several roles in television and radio. His career in stand-up comedy has seen him perform his 200th show at Vicar Street, Dublin in 2013, and release eight stand-up comedy DVDs, including "Tommy Tiernan Live," "Cracked," and "Stray Sod." Tiernan has also made appearances on popular talk shows such as "The Late Late Show" in Ireland and the "Late Show with David Letterman" in the United States. He has starred in TV series like "Small Potatoes" and "Derry Girls," and has also made a notable contribution to radio by forming a duo with Hector Ó hEochagáin in 2008 and hosting "The Tommy and Hector Show."

Since 2017, Tiernan has hosted "The Tommy Tiernan Show," presenting the first episode on RTÉ One on January 5, 2017. Besides his TV show, he has been a presenter of the "Tommy and Hector Podcast with Laurita Blewitt" from September 2020 until its closure in April 2024. Tiernan's accomplishments extend to awards including the Channel 4 "So You Think You're Funny" award in 1996, the Perrier Comedy Award at the 1998 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Best Stand-Up Award at the British Comedy Awards, and Ireland's Funniest Living Person Award at the People of the Year Awards in 2006. His role in "Derry Girls" as Gerry Quinn from 2018 to 2022 further established his presence in the entertainment industry.
