Tom Farrey Biography
Tom Farrey leads the Aspen Institute Sports and Society Program, which convenes leaders, facilitates dialogue, and inspires solutions that help sports serve the public interest. He is also a journalist whose work on ESPN won the 2014 Alfred I. duPont/Columbia University Award, the 2013 Edward R. Murrow Award, and two Emmy Awards. He was the first ESPN reporter to deliver cross-platform enterprise reports, and before that was deputy editor at the startup that would create ESPN.com.
He is author of Game On: The All-American Race to Make Champions of Our Children, which investigated contemporary youth sports and led to the 2013 launch of Project Play, the Institute’s effort to build healthy communities through sports.
