Todd Blyleven

Todd Blyleven has built a career at the intersection of professional sports, leadership, and human resilience. As the son of Major League Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Bert Blyleven, Todd Blyleven was immersed in professional sports from a young age, developing a passion for competition and high performance. He became a professional athlete and later served as an MLB scout, signing more than 25 players to Major League contracts. Blyleven's scouting career included roles with the Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Angels, while his playing career spanned the Pittsburgh Pirates, Milwaukee Brewers, and Los Angeles Angels organizations. After his time on the field and in scouting, Blyleven transitioned into the corporate sports industry, gaining expertise in sports technology and marketing.

Blyleven is a survivor of the Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting in Las Vegas, one of the deadliest mass casualty events in American history. During the incident, he assisted dozens of people to safety, protected the wounded, and provided support to those affected. Following the event, Blyleven faced challenges related to trauma and PTSD, ultimately seeking therapy and finding healing through eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).

Blyleven's experience with trauma and recovery led him to advocate for mental health awareness, encouraging openness and vulnerability as strengths. He speaks to diverse audiences, including first responders, military veterans, sports professionals, corporations, and faith-based organizations, sharing insights on resilience, mental health, and personal growth.

A TEDx speaker and two-time published author, Blyleven is known for his storytelling and focus on resilience. He is the author of "Scout Like a Pro," which draws from his experience in Major League Baseball to share best practices and techniques used by scouts to evaluate players. Blyleven also hosts the "I'm Going In" podcast, where he shares stories of adversity and strength with his audience. His work continues to impact live audiences and listeners, emphasizing themes of resilience, faith, and the capacity for growth in the face of adversity.
