Timothy Simons

Timothy Simons is an actor and comedian known for his portrayals of complex, flawed characters in television and film. Simons studied theater at the University of Maine, where he developed a foundation in acting. After refining his skills in Chicago, he moved to Los Angeles and began his career with commercial work before securing his first television role.

Simons gained recognition for his role as Jonah Ryan on the HBO political satire "Veep," starring alongside Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Tony Hale. His character evolved from a White House staffer to a member of Congress and eventually a presidential contender. Simons appeared throughout the series' run, earning five nominations and one win for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

Transitioning to film, Simons took on supporting roles in the football drama "Draft Day" and Paul Thomas Anderson's adaptation of "Inherent Vice." His film credits also include "Christine," "Happiest Season," "Station Eleven," "Don't Worry Darling," and "Joy Ride." On television, he has appeared in the Hulu series "Candy" and "The Handmaid's Tale." In "Candy," Simons portrayed Pat Montgomery, the husband at the center of a true crime story.

Simons joined the Netflix romantic comedy series "Nobody Wants This," playing Sasha Roklov, a character distinct from his previous roles. For this performance, he received a Critics Choice Award nomination for best supporting actor in a comedy series. He is also cast as Tantalus in season two of Disney's "Percy Jackson and the Olympians."

Beyond his screen work, Simons has served as an undergraduate commencement speaker at the University of Maine and contributed to the establishment of the Sandra E. Hardy Theatre Scholarship Fund, supporting theater students. With a career spanning political satire, true crime drama, and romantic comedy, Simons continues to demonstrate versatility across the entertainment industry.
