Tim Love

Tim Love is a chef and restaurateur known for his urban Western cuisine, which blends traditional Southwestern flavors with modern culinary techniques. Love began his culinary career at Kiva Grill in Knoxville while attending the University of Tennessee, eventually running the kitchen. He later worked in Colorado as a chef at Uptown Bistro in Breckenridge, where he earned the Taste of Breckenridge Grand Award for three consecutive years. After gaining experience in multiple regions, Love established his culinary presence in Texas.

Love opened his flagship restaurant, "Lonesome Dove Western Bistro," in Fort Worth's Stockyards district. The restaurant gained national recognition as one of the world's top 50 restaurants and led to an invitation to cook at the James Beard House as the first Fort Worth chef to do so. The menu, featuring steaks, seafood, and wild game, received a 4.5-star rating from The Dallas Morning News and a Zagat rating of 28, the highest in Texas. His work has been recognized by The Today Show, Wine Spectator, Esquire, Southern Living, Bon Appétit, and The New York Times. Love is also the author of the cookbook "On the Lonesome Dove Trail."

With more than 25 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Love owns and operates several Fort Worth-area establishments, including White Elephant Saloon, Love Shack, Tannahill's Tavern and Music Hall, Woodshed Smokehouse, and Gemelle with micro-hotel Hotel Otto. Woodshed Smokehouse was named one of Bon Appétit's 50 Best New Restaurants. Caterina's was named one of the top 15 new restaurants in the United States and Canada by OpenTable. Love's influence extends to event and entertainment, including partnerships with music festivals such as Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo, serving as official chef for Austin City Limits, and co-founding Austin Food & Wine.

Love's television appearances include "Iron Chef America," where he defeated Masaharu Morimoto in Battle Chile Pepper, as well as "Top Chef Masters," "The Next Iron Chef," "Knife Fight," and "Tournament of Champions." He has served as a guest judge on "Chopped" and "Top Chef," and co-hosted "Restaurant Startup." Love has been featured in The New York Times, Food & Wine, Bon Appétit, The Wall Street Journal, and Men's Health.

Love has been named Best Chef in Dallas/Fort Worth by D Magazine and received the Alumni Professional Achievement Award from the University of Tennessee Haslam College of Business. His philanthropic work includes the Christmas Boot Drive for 4-H, the Shed Hunger Turkey Drive for Tarrant Area Food Bank, and Hats for Heart, which supports victims of the Kerrville flood, mental health programs, and World Central Kitchen. Love's contributions continue to influence the culinary and hospitality industries.
