The Beach Boys

The Beach Boys are an iconic American rock band formed in Hawthorne, California, in 1961 by brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, alongside cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine. They quickly rose to fame with their signature tight vocal harmonies and sunny anthems celebrating California’s youth culture—surfing, cars, and romance—earning their first national hit with “Surfin’ USA” in 1963. Under Brian Wilson’s visionary leadership, the group evolved from breezy pop into sophisticated studio innovators, releasing the landmark album Pet Sounds (1966) and the groundbreaking single “Good Vibrations,” both of which are widely regarded among the greatest achievements in popular music.
