Tevin Campbell

Beginning his career in 1988, Tevin Campbell quickly became a recognized figure in the music industry. His vocal abilities and songwriting skills have seen him earn five Grammy Award nominations, with his album "I'm Ready" alone grabbing three nominations in the categories of Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for "Can We Talk" and "I'm Ready", and Best R&B Album. Campbell's talent extended beyond the recording studio; he voiced the fictional pop star Powerline in Disney's 1995 animated film "A Goofy Movie", delivering standout performances on the songs "I 2 I" and "Stand Out".

Campbell's on-stage presence was further showcased when he appeared as Seaweed in the 2005 Broadway musical "Hairspray", a role he reprised in productions in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia. His performances have reached international audiences, with notable appearances at the BET Awards 2009, the Divos Tour 2013 in South Africa and London's O2 Arena, and the One Man, One Nation, One Celebration memorial service in tribute to Nelson Mandela. In addition to his own concerts, he has collaborated with other artists, featuring on the remake of Quincy Jones' "Secret Garden" alongside Usher, Robin Thicke, Tyrese Gibson, LL Cool J, and Barry White.

After a hiatus, Campbell returned to the music scene in 2014, performing at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, the D23 Expo in Anaheim, and the 2015 Soul Train Music Awards. He also released a single "Safer on the Ground" from his fifth album, and has continued his recording career with Spectra Music Group since 2014. His contributions to the music industry have been recognized with a Young Artist Award in 1990 and a Soul Train Music Award in 1994, and more recently, he was honored with the R&B Icon Award at the Black Music Honors in 2022.
