Terry Doyle

Terry Doyle is an author, educational consultant, and professor emeritus of reading at Ferris State University, where he spent 38 years developing expertise in learner-centered teaching methodologies. After retiring, Doyle founded Learner-Centered Teaching Consultants and Learner-Centered Tutoring, focusing on transforming educational practices across institutions globally. His work is grounded in cognitive science and the principle that the individual who engages in the work achieves the learning, which shapes his consulting and teaching philosophy.

Doyle has authored or co-authored seven books on applying learning science research to teaching, with titles emphasizing strategies for students to learn in harmony with their brain. His scholarly work includes numerous articles on the teaching and learning process, reflecting a commitment to evidence-based educational reform.
