Tanya Sam

Tanya Sam is an entrepreneur, investor, and television personality whose career spans healthcare, technology, and media. Before entering the technology industry, Sam worked as an oncology nurse practitioner at institutions including Northside Hospital, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and Cell Biology from McGill University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Toronto. After more than a decade in healthcare, Sam transitioned into the startup and venture capital sector, leveraging her scientific background to contribute to Atlanta's technology ecosystem.

As director of partnerships at TechSquare Labs in Atlanta, Sam has supported the growth of the tech sector by mentoring more than 60 companies founded by women and minority entrepreneurs and investing in over 50 ventures that have generated more than $100 million in revenue. She co-founded BuiltxWomen, a business accelerator for female entrepreneurs, and launched The Ambition Fund, an investment company focused on funding women and underrepresented business owners. Through The Ambition Fund, Sam has invested $25,000 in minority entrepreneurs, including the feminine hygiene company Femly.

Sam appeared on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" as a friend of the housewives during its eleventh and thirteenth seasons, bringing her entrepreneurial background to a wider audience. She has also worked as an actress and producer, with credits including "Single Not Searching" and "Making of A MogulUSA."

Sam is dedicated to increasing opportunities for women and minorities in business and technology. She serves on the board of directors for Kate's Club, a nonprofit organization supporting children who have experienced the death of a parent or sibling. Sam is also the founder and curator of the Tanya Time Book Club, a virtual community that promotes literature and intellectual engagement through curated reading selections and discussions. Her work spans television, venture capital, and philanthropy, reflecting a commitment to entrepreneurship, diversity, and community engagement.
