Khalif Malik Ibn Shaman Brown, better known as Swae Lee, is a singer, rapper, and songwriter celebrated for his silky vocals, melodic hooks, and genre-defying sound. Raised in Tupelo, Mississippi by a single Nigerian-American mother and alongside his brother Slim Jxmmi, he emerged as one half of the Grammy-nominated duo Rae Sremmurd, who exploded onto the scene in 2014 with hits like “No Flex Zone,” “No Type,” and the viral smash “Black Beatles."

Swae Lee has also made an indelible mark as a solo artist. His collaborative feature with French Montana on “Unforgettable” (2017) soared to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned 9× platinum status. His voice next dominated global charts with “Sunflower” alongside Post Malone (2018), featured on the Spider‑Man: Into the Spider‑Verse soundtrack. The song not only reached No. 1 on the Hot 100, but also became 20× platinum in the U.S., making history as the first ever “double diamond” certified track. His solo debut album, Swaecation, arrived in 2018 as part of Rae Sremmurd’s triple-album SR3MM, showcasing his smoother, more melodic side.

Swae Lee’s seamless blend of R&B, hip-hop, pop, and trap has made him a highly sought-after collaborator. In addition to his vocal work, he’s also credited as co‑writer on Beyoncé’s “Formation” and he contributed production to tracks like Rae Sremmurd’s “No Type” and Gucci Mane’s “P*ssy Print” featuring Kanye West.
